Diving Services and Training
Ocean Dive Centre operates the diving services at Dusit Thani Island Resort & Spa and is a PADI Five Star certified dive centre. The facility is equipped with BAUER PureAir systems and offers a range of diving activities and certified courses conducted in accordance with PADI standards.
The centre follows established safety and environmental practices, with a team of multilingual dive professionals providing guidance and instruction for divers of varying experience levels. Training and excursions are designed to promote responsible interaction with the marine environment.
Reef Life and Marine Encounters
Discover the diverse marine ecosystem surrounding Dusit Thani Maldives, home to a wide range of reef life. The waters around the resort offer opportunities to observe sea turtles, reef sharks, and other marine species while snorkeling or diving.
Hanifaru Bay Marine Experience
A nearby bay is known for seasonal gatherings of manta rays and whale sharks, attracted by plankton-rich waters. The recognized season typically runs from May to November, with peak sightings most common between July and October, depending on natural conditions.
Manta Cleaning Station
Manta Point is a well-known cleaning station where manta rays and whale sharks are frequently sighted. The site plays an important role in the local marine ecosystem and offers guided exploration opportunities subject to conditions and regulations.
Diving Sites in the Area
The region features more than 30 dive sites accessible within a short distance from the resort. These sites cater to divers of varying experience levels and include diverse underwater landscapes and marine life. Water temperatures generally range between 25–28°C, with good visibility throughout the year.
Snorkeling and Marine Excursions
Guests may visit nearby sandbanks for a private experience and continue with guided snorkeling trips at selected thila sites, known for their coral formations and marine life.Seasonal snorkeling excursions are also available in areas known for manta ray activity. These experiences typically operate between May and November, subject to weather conditions and local regulations.Complimentary snorkeling equipment is provided for all guests and may be retained in the villa throughout the stay for independent exploration of the house reef.
